Lasered barcode – state of the art barcode making…

I found this barcode on an ABB indicator lamp. You can see that it was burned with a laser. It has light-brown color and is burned on a light-gray background. The bars are not solid, but are filled with tiny lines (probably to save on burning time). The contrast of the barcode is very low. My old MS951 reader is unable to read this barcode. Had they used the good old screen printing technique with black ink, there would be no problem.
